Yes. All KYSON coating systems — water-based, PE and PLA — are tested and compliant with EU Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 and (EU) No 10/2011 (overall migration, heavy metals, PAHs, phthalates, BPA and more). See the Certifications page for the issued test reports.

Yes. Our water-based products are not single-use plastics under SUPD, and our recyclable products carry DIN EN ISO 14021 certification (93% recyclable) to support PPWR recyclability grading. We provide the issued certificates so your due-diligence file is complete. All coating systems are EU food-contact compliant.
It depends on the waste infrastructure at the point of use. Our water-based range is recyclable (DIN EN ISO 14021, 93%) and also compostable (EN 13432 / NF T51-800 / AS 5810). Our PLA range is compostable (EN 13432 / BPI) but not recyclable in standard paper streams. We can advise based on your local collection system.
For our water-based coated range, there is no plastic film — the barrier is a water-based coating. The cups are independently certified ≥99.25% plastic-free under the flustix LESS PLASTICS scheme (Control Union Certifications Germany, Cert. FPPC025). Because there is no plastic, the product is not a single-use plastic under the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive. Our PLA products are compostable but are a bioplastic, so we do not call them plastic-free.
